WHO IS ASG AUSTIN?
We are the Austin Chapter of the American Sewing Guild and have members from New Braunfels to Waco. Our chapter is a group of sewing enthusiasts of all skill levels—from beginner to expert—who are passionate about the fiber arts in all of its forms.
WHEN DO YOU MEET?
We meet on the 3rd Saturday of every month from 1:00 - 3:00pm Central Time. The monthly meetings provide our membership with interesting programs, workshops, community service projects, challenges and show and tell opportunities. We bring in talented speakers from around the country! Because of this, we have both virtual and in-person meetings depending on the presentation. HOW DO I HEAR THE LATEST NEWS?
Upon joining our chapter, your name will be added to our members list on our GroupWorks membership page, which we use for group posts, newsletters and events. Here, members share photos of their recent projects, rsvp for meetings and more! GroupWorks will send meeting notifications directly to you email inbox. We also share projects and meeting information on our Instagram and Facebook.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
An adult chapter membership and an adult member-at-large membership cost $60 for your first year and $55 to renew each year after. A youth membership costs $35 for your first year and $35 to renew each year after.
WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF ASG MEMBERSHIPS?
There are three types of ASG membership:
CHAPTER: You can join a chapter (like us!) to interact with members of your local sewing community. Chapters host regular meetings, social events, fashion shows, and classes featuring local or national speakers, and many offer sewing related service projects for their community. Neighborhood or special interest groups within chapters offer opportunities for sharing ideas and “hands-on” sewing experiences. Whether you are a novice or advanced seamstress, connecting with a chapter in your area will help foster your love of sewing and provide you with resources, inspiration and community!
MEMBER-AT-LARGE: This member does not belong to a specific local chapter, but is still entitled to all benefits of a membership and may request permission to participate in special functions or events at a local level.
YOUTH: ASG has a specific youth program for sewing enthusiasts through age 17 and extending up to age 22 for registered college students. Some have advanced or professional sewing skills, while some are novices at the beginner level. The majority fall somewhere between those two levels. They want to learn new skills, they want sewing friends to share their successes and challenges, and they want to belong to a group that will support their adventures in sewing. In many areas, youth participating in local 4-H clubs join ASG at this level and continue their membership into adulthood!
